DAV Public School, Khera Khurd organised a programme – Sanskar- Celebrating Togetherness, on 26th February 2011. In a world where family ties and Joint-family system is fast losing its importance, this programme was an attempt to bring three generations (Children, Parents and Grandparents) together. The students presented a skit, a puppet show and song-dance sequences to highlight the importance of staying together. There was a ‘Project Presentation’ by students of Nursery and UKG in which they spoke about how they spend time with their grandparents.
Mrs. Premlata Garg, Principal, DAV Shreshtha Vihar and Chief Guest applauded the efforts of the students. She said that parents play a key-role in strengthening the bond between grandparents and grandchildren.
Some games were also organised for the grandparents in which they actively participated.
Principal Mrs. Monika Mehan said that the bond between grandparent and grandchild is an everlasting one and ensures that sanskars remain firmly rooted within the family system.
