Celebration- Independence Day


Independence Day was celebrated on 12th August 2011 in the school premises. As the flag was hoisted by the Head Boy, Head Girl and the Principal, students sang the national anthem and paid respect to the national flag to uphold the sovereignty of the country. A short cultural programme was presented by the house-on-duty.

Visit to CM house- 29th July 2011

The Eco Club of DAV Public School Khera Khurd was selected for the visit for Nature Trail at CM House on 29 July ‘2011. The visit was sponsored by Department of Environment and Forests. Chief Minister Ms. Sheela Dikshit interacted with the students about functioning and related activities of Eco Club in the school and appreciated their efforts. Students walked through the trail and showed their keenness to learn about rare species and Frugivore bats. This trip helped to sensitise the students about issues related to biodiversity.

A visit to Rashtrapati Bhawan- 23rd July 2011

The Eco Club students of DAV Public school, Khera Khurd got the opportunity to visit Rashtrapati Bhawan for Nature trail on 23rd July ‘2011. The visit was organized by Department of Environment and Forest, Govt. of Delhi, to create awareness on nature conversation through direct interaction of the students with the nature.

International Biological Diversity Day Celebrations


Students of our school participated in the International Biological Diversity Day Celebrations on 21st May 2011 at Yamuna Biodiversity Park, Wazirabad. A street play was presented by the students on the theme ‘Biodiversity- Protect it to protect your entity on Earth’. Science Teachers Mrs. Jyotsna Srivastava and Ms. Rachita Gupta prepared the students and sensitised them about the key issues related to biodiversity.
Renowned ecologist Prof CR Babu and Senior Scientific Officer Dr B.C. Sabata were present on this occasion and they appreciated the work done by the students.

Arya Samaj Sthapana and our Manager’s First Visit to the School

It was indeed a moment of great pride and jubilation for us when our School Manager Sh. S.R. Arora visited our school for the first time.
Actually 7 May 2011 is now an important date for the school as on this day we formally had a Havan for ‘Arya Samaj Sthapana’ in our school.
The School Chairman Sh. Baldev Jindal, Manager Dr. S.R. Arora , Principal Mrs. Monika Mehan, members of Arya Yuva Samaj, Teachers and students were present. Our special guests on this occasion were the residents of Village-Khera Khurd.

Slide- Show of Investiture Ceremony

INVESTITURE CEREMONY



The Investiture Ceremony of the Student’s Council of DAV Public School, Khera Khurd was held on 29th April 2011. The members of the new Student’s Council  were decorated with badges and administered the pledge by Chairman of the school Sh. Baldev Jindal. The Head Boy-Shivankar Tyagi  and Head Girl-Amisha Vashishth along with the newly appointed House Captains promised to uphold the school’s tradition, abide by the school rules and perform their duties sincerely. Principal Ms. Monika Mehan congratulated the newly appointed members and advised them to be ideal role models for the students and responsible torch-bearers who would take the country towards a better tomorrow.

Sanskar- Celebrating Togetherness


DAV Public School, Khera Khurd organised a programme – Sanskar- Celebrating Togetherness, on 26th February 2011. In a world where family ties and Joint-family system is fast losing its importance, this programme was an attempt to bring three generations (Children, Parents and Grandparents) together. The students presented a skit, a puppet show and song-dance sequences to highlight the importance of staying together. There was a ‘Project Presentation’ by students of Nursery and UKG in which they spoke about how they spend time with their grandparents.
Mrs. Premlata Garg, Principal, DAV Shreshtha Vihar and Chief Guest applauded the efforts of the students. She said that parents play a key-role in strengthening the bond between grandparents and grandchildren.
Some games were also organised for the grandparents in which they actively participated.
Principal Mrs. Monika Mehan said that the bond between grandparent and grandchild is an everlasting one and ensures that sanskars remain firmly rooted within the family system.
