Investiture Ceremony 2012
The
Investiture Ceremony of the Student’s Council of DAV Public School, Khera Khurd
was held on 17th September 2012. The new students council headed by Harsh Rathi (Headboy) and Anshul
Mann (head Girl) was sworn in. The members of the new Student’s Council were decorated with badges and administered
the pledge by Chairman of the school Sh. Baldev Jindal. The newly appointed
members promised to uphold the school’s tradition, abide by the school rules
and perform their duties sincerely. Manager
of the school Dr. S.R. Arora emphasised on the need for the students to
carry out their responsibilities seriously and urged the students to uphold the
dignity of the school . The school flag was handed over to the Head Boy and the
Head Girl of the school by the school Principal Mrs. Monika Mehan.

What makes me Happy!
In today’s world, stress effects all of us, young and old. Effective stress-busters, when used in the right manner relieve this stress to a large extent and help to develop a positive attitude.
The students of classes Pre- Primary to class X displayed a graffiti wall in their classes on which they wrote about what things, events, incidents etc. that make them happy and cheerful. Everyone enjoyed the activity and gave the feedback that the display in their classrooms helps them to feel energized and happy.

Vanmahotsava Celebrations
Van Mahotsava is an annual pan-Indian tree planting festival celebrated in India during the
monsoons.
This year, two wings of DAV – Arya Pradeshik Pratinidhi
Upsabha, Delhi and Rashtriya Arya Yuva Samaj, Delhi decided to celebrate this
important event with all the DAV Schools of Delhi.
To
highlight the importance of trees in our life Eco Club of D.A.V. Public School
Khera Khurd, Delhi conducted the following programmes:
·
Rally:
A rally was organized. Students of classes VIII, IX and X went from the school
till the Western Yamuna Canal located on the outskirts of Khera Khurd. Principal
Mrs. Monika Mehan flagged off the rally. The students carried placards highlighting
the importance of trees and harmful effects of deforestation.
·
TREE
Plantation: The students planted saplings of Neem, Kachnar,
Amla, Harsingar and jamun along the banks of Western Yamuna Canal located on
the outskirts of Khera Khurd. They also prepared fences made of bamboo to
protect the saplings.
·
Workshop
on ‘Best out of Waste’ for growing plants: It was
followed by a workshop on reusing plastic bottles for planting saplings. This
workshop was conducted for students of classes V, VI and VII. The students
prepared old plastic bottles for growing plants. They tied strings on them so
that these bottles could be used for decorative purpose too.

Poster making competition and slogan writing competition:
Poster making
competition and slogan writing competition were conducted for students of
primary and middle classes.
The students also promised to plant
saplings near their houses and take care of them
individually.
